About Saleh al Kuwaity

Saleh al Kuwaity, is considered the genius of his time whose music still lives on. He has made at least 1200 compositions since he started his musical career in Kuwait and then in Iraq. Not only did he excel in the classical and popular music known at his time, but he created new styles of Maqam and developed the Iraqi song to a higher level which gained great popularity with the public. His contribution to Iraqi music led him to work with leading Egyptian artists Muhammad Abdel Wahab and Um Kulthum. Along with his brother Daoud, a brilliant Oud player, they enriched music in Iraq and they became the founders of the musical ensemble of Iraqi Radio.

بمناسبة الذكرى المئوية على ولادة الفنان القدير صالح الكويتي الذي ابدع اجمل الألحان و الاغاني العراقية و التي خٌلدت في ذاكرة شعوب المنطقة ( العراق و الكويت و البحرين وسوريا و الاردن) . صالح الكويتي جزء من تراث لا ينسى انتج الفن الاصيل الذي وصل الى مئات الالحان التي غنيت بحناجر عمالقة الغناء العراقي. اشتهر في الثلاثينات والاربعينات من القرن الماضي بوضع الالحان الخالدة لمعظم مطربي ومطربات تلك الحقبة - امثال سليمة مراد وزكية جورج ومنيرة الهوزوز وسلطانة يوسف وبدرية أنور وجليلة ام سامي وعفيفة اسكندر وراوية ونرجس شوقي وزهور حسين ، كما وضع الكثير من المقدمات واللوازم الموسيقية لداخل +حسن وحضيري أبو عزيز.

Faisal was born in Basra-Iraq. He graduated from Fine Arts Institute in Iraq, Fine Arts Academy-Baghdad University, Fine Arts School-Paris/France. He exhibited his paintings in the UK, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Algeria and many others countries. Faisal also decorated and designed many books covers, Theatres, Magazines and wrote many articles about art, literature, politic, aesthetic. Faisal lives and works in London-U.K

About the Team
Ahmed Mukhtar Close	Ahmed Mukhtar Art Director responsible for all the musical and artistic aspects including selection of the band, the musical programme and the filming of the event. Ahmed also took responsibility for the promotion of the event with the media and establishment of the event Website.
Emile Cohen Close	Emile Cohen Project Manager responsible for the programme and strategy of the organisation leading to the event together with responsibility for the finance budget, sponsorship, production and distribution of DVDs and CDs and all commercial sales.
Niran Timan (Bassoon) Close	Niran Timan (Bassoon) Lead organiser of the event responsible for the organisation and execution of the programme.  Niran continues to maintain and update the Website and keeping contacts with other parties on any matters relevant to Al Kuwaity brothers.
Our Aim The aim of the project is to preserve the music heritage of Iraq with particular reference to Saleh Al Kuwaity who was prolific in composing in composing the greatest tunes of what is known as the Iraqi traditional music. Saleh Al Kuwaity is credited in bringing together, with his music, all the people of that era, regardless of their race, ethnic origin, language, religious or political background. It is our mission to perpetuate the legacy of Saleh Al Kuwaity.
